At GDS we produce parts with complex geometry and tight tolerances. New products & technologies like in the medical field often require new methods of working materials to more precise tolerances. We specialize in plastic injection as well as plastic extrusion molds.

PLASTIC INJECTION

This is a manufacturing process for producing parts from both thermoplastic and thermosetting plastic materials. Material is fed into a heated barrel, mixed, and forced into a mold cavity where it cools and hardens to the configuration of the cavity. After the product is designed, molds are made from metal, usually either steel or aluminum, and precision-machined to form the features of the desired part. Injection molding is widely used for manufacturing a variety of parts, from the smallest component to entire body panels of cars.

PLASTIC EXTRUSION

This is a process used to create objects of a fixed cross-sectional profile. A material is pushed or drawn through a die of the desired cross-section. The two main advantages of this process over other manufacturing processes are its ability to create very complex cross-sections and work materials that are brittle, because the material only encounters compressive and shear stresses. It also forms finished parts with an excellent surface finish.

There are many consumer products we use on a regular basis for personal, family, or household use, for non-business purposes and made from any type of resin.

GDS can produce single cavity molds for high volume production of any consumer product.
